It is almost a guarantee that if you don't have a friend or relative with Fibromyalgia, you don't understand it ~ not really. And if you do know someone with Fibro, there are certain things they desperately need to know. The fact that Fibromyalgia is a mysterious, scary and miserable illness with no real known cause and no cure and it can strike anyone at any age. It can be frightening, and we know that it's hard to see your loved one in so much pain and feeling 'rotten'. We also understand that people with fibro can be a lot of hard work, but we as fibro sufferers depend on you really understanding our illness.
"You get to the point where it becomes tiring trying to explain to people what fibromyalgia is. So try asking them a few simple questions instead:
"Have you heard about Arthritis and how it effects a person?"
Most people say yes...
"Do you know what it feels like to have a really bad bout of flu including a severe head cold?"
Most people say yes...
"Do you know how you feel the day after a vigorous workout in a gym?"
Again Most people say yes...
"Do you know how frustrating it is when you can't remember how to do the simplest things?"
"This is the time to say GOOD... now cross the four and add to it a malfunctioning immune system and you might have some idea of how fibromites feel on an average day "
